Sa'adu Zungur University Announces Academic Staff Promotions
The Governing Council of Sa'adu Zungur University, under the chairmanship of Professor Ango Abdullahi, has approved the promotion of six academic staff members to the rank of Professor and five others to the rank of Reader (Associate Professor), effective October 1, 2023.

The promotions were announced at the 49th regular meeting of the University Senate, held on July 25, 2024, at the Senate Chamber.
The newly promoted Professors are:
1. Dr. Mustapha Garba Muh'd - Professor of Islamic Studies, Department of Islamic Studies
2. Dr. Shuaibu Musa Ardo - Professor of Islamic Studies, Department of Islamic Studies
3. Dr. Jacob Itse Dabo - Professor of Educational Administration, Department of Science Education
4. Dr. Abdussalam Murtala Alhaqiqi - Professor of Arabic Rhetoric and Criticism, Department of Arabic
5. Dr. Zubairu Abubakar Madaki - Professor of Islamic Studies, Department of Islamic Studies
6. Dr. Sani Babayo Yana - Professor of Arabic Language and Linguistics, Department of Arabic

The five staff promoted to the rank of Reader (Associate Professor) are:
1. Dr. Musa Adamu Wunti - Reader in Comparative Politics and Peace Studies, Department of Political Science
2. Dr. Eghosa E. Elijah - Reader in Mathematics, Department of Mathematical Sciences
3. Dr. Baba Tanimu - Reader in Islamic Studies, Department of Islamic Studies
4. Dr. Yunusa Abubakar - Reader in Sociology of Education, Department of Education Art
5. Dr. Sani Abubakar Abdullahi - Reader in Arabic Literature Education, Department of Arabic
According to the Vice Chancellor and Chairman, Appointments and Promotions Committee (A&PC), Professor Fatimah Tahir, the promotions reflect the university's commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and professional growth of its faculty.
