Sa’adu Zungur University Lauds Bauchi Government As it Backs Successful Combined Convocation Ceremony

The 8th, 9th and 10th Combined Convocation Ceremony of Sa’adu Zungur University has been described as a resounding success, largely attributed to the support of the Bauchi State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON, the Executive Governor.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fatimah Tahir, speaking on behalf of the Senate, management, staff, students and the entire university community, expressed deep appreciation to the state government for its commitment to the institution, noting that the support played a critical role in the success of the ceremony.

A major highlight of the government’s intervention was the approval and release of funds, which facilitated activities before, during and after the convocation. The funding, according to the university management, ensured smooth execution of all programmes associated with the event.

In addition, the state government sponsored the live broadcast of the ceremony on Trust Television and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Network. The initiative, facilitated through the Office of the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, enabled wider public engagement, allowing audiences across the country to follow proceedings in real time.

Despite a busy schedule, Governor Mohammed attended the ceremony alongside top government officials and traditional leaders, contributing to what observers described as a colourful and memorable occasion.

As part of ongoing development efforts, the government has constructed internal access roads at the university’s main campus in Gadau, with plans underway to extend similar projects to the Yuli Campus. Student accommodation projects have also received attention.

Professor Tahir reiterated the university’s commitment to aligning with the state government’s vision for education, assuring that the institution would continue to uphold standards of academic excellence.
