Senate of Ahmadu Bello University congratulates ABU Team on winning Grand Prize at ICT competition in China
Speaking at the Senate’s 522nd (Emergency) meeting held today (30th May, 2023), the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Danladi A. Ameh, who chaired the meeting, said that the Senate of the University acknowledged with “great appreciation” the team for making the University proud.
The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University has congratulated the ABU Team that participated in the Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023 Global Final held in Shenzhen in China and won the Innovation Grand Prize.
Speaking at the Senate’s 522nd (Emergency) meeting held today (30th May, 2023), the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Danladi A. Ameh, who chaired the meeting, said that the Senate of the University acknowledged with “great appreciation” the team for making the University proud.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor also said that the University was elated that the team was led in the ICT competition by a female student from the Faculty of Law, Maryam Jimoh Olalade. The two other students on the team are Haruna Anas, Ahmed Abdullahi, and Elayo Aliyu Isah.
About 80 universities worldwide participated and 146 teams from 36 countries. Before the final, more than 110,000 students from more than 2000 universities in 74 countries and regions around the world took part in the ICT competition, and 107 teams from 36 countries reached the global final.
