Six Ajayi Crowther University Students Inducted as Associate Accounting Technicians
Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has recorded another academic milestone as six of its students were inducted as Associate Accounting Technicians (AAT) at the Accounting Technicians Scheme West Africa (ATSWA) induction ceremony held at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Centre, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has recorded another academic milestone as six of its students were inducted as Associate Accounting Technicians (AAT) at the Accounting Technicians Scheme West Africa (ATSWA) induction ceremony held at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Centre, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
The achievement further reinforces the University's reputation for producing industry-ready graduates in accounting and other academic disciplines.
The newly inducted Associate Accounting Technicians are Adesewa Owoeye, Triumphant Babalola, TrustGod Ibeyen, Olaseeni Idowu-Abraham, Gosife Chidolue, and Goodness Soma Uzoechi.
In addition, Emmanuel Odeleye, an ATS 2 student of the University, received the Best Student Award in Public Sector Accounting.
The ATSWA programme, organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), has been running at Ajayi Crowther University under the coordination of the Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance, Dr. Mrs. Adesola Oluwatuyi, with the support of the former Head of Department, Dr. Oluwaseyi Adedipe.
The University's partnership with ICAN began after it was approved as an official examination centre during the administration of former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Adebayo.
The first ATSWA examination at the institution was conducted in September 2021, with 50 students from the Departments of Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Law, and Mass Communication participating.

Since the inception of the programme, 73 students of the University have been inducted as Associate Accounting Technicians, while more than 20 have gone on to qualify as Chartered Accountants.
Commenting on the latest achievement, Dr. Oluwatuyi commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebunoluwa Oduwole, for her unwavering support and commitment to the ICAN programme since assuming office.
The latest success comes weeks after Abraham Okubule, a recent graduate of the Department of Accounting and Finance, qualified as a Chartered Accountant, joining the growing list of ACU graduates who have excelled in professional accounting examinations.
The University's consistent performance in ATSWA and ICAN examinations reflects its commitment to producing technically competent, professionally certified, and ethically grounded accounting professionals.
