Despite the recent release of Fatima from the terrorists' den, the menace continues to haunt the Federal University Dutsin-Ma in Katsina State and the Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State. Reports indicate that six female students remain in captivity, posing a grave concern for the academic communities.

In Katsina, four students identified as Bello Fatima Zara and Adam Rahmatallahi from Kwara State, along with two others from Niger and Kano states, are yet to be freed. Muhammad Fatima Ruqqayat, a fellow student, was released after spending over 45 days in captivity. Her uncle disclosed that a ransom exceeding N4 million was paid to secure her release.
