Students React to University of Maiduguri Renaming

Some former and present students of the University of Maiduguri have expressed dissatisfaction with the recent renaming of their institution.

According to Shehu Sani, the students are hesitant to speak out against the decision due to the person whose name was used in the renaming.

The students seem to prefer retaining the original name, University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), rather than adopting the new name. This sentiment comes amidst a broader trend of renaming public infrastructure, including airports and train stations.
