Founded by Very Rev. Msgr. Prof. John Bosco Akam, known as the "Father of Enlightenment" and "Legend of Education," Tansian University emerged from a vision to create a comprehensive educational pathway. Prof. Akam's commitment to education began with the establishment of institutions ranging from kindergarten and primary schools to secondary schools, as well as facilities for the destitute and physically challenged. This holistic approach to education laid the foundation for Tansian University, named in honor of Blessed Cyprian Michael Iwene Tansi, the first Nigerian to be beatified.
