Taraba State University Delegation Pays Respectful Visit to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunday Paul Bako

The Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University, Professor Sunday Paul Bako, recently welcomed the top management and several staff members of the university for a courtesy visit at his private residence in Donga during the festive break.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Onesimus Shiaki, who led the delegation, expressed gratitude for the positive impact the VC has had on the university since assuming office in 2022. He highlighted the significant achievements and improvements witnessed under Bako's leadership, especially acknowledging the positive intervention that has addressed salary payment issues.

During the visit, Prof. Shiaki emphasized the transformative role of Governor Kefas' intervention, noting the positive shift in the narrative of salary payments. He expressed gratitude for receiving December salaries before Christmas, marking a positive change for the university community. Looking ahead to the new year, Prof. Shiaki conveyed optimism for more fruitful and prosperous times for the university.

Responding to the expressions of gratitude, VC Prof. Bako expressed his happiness with the visit, especially from members of the management team and university staff. He viewed such occasions as opportunities to reflect on the university's operations over the past eleven months, identifying areas for improvement and assessing strengths and weaknesses. Prof. Bako highlighted the importance of the festive season as a period of renewed hope, urging everyone to reflect on relationships and seek reconciliation.

Prof. Bako encouraged self-reflection, emphasizing the need to apologize and forgive, aligning with the spirit of the season. He acknowledged the challenges faced by individuals and the university community, expressing appreciation for the team's dedication. Reflecting on the purpose he believes he was ordained to fulfill, the VC commended the collective efforts that contributed to the university's successes, particularly during the recent accreditation exercise by the National Universities Commission (NUC) which the University waiting for a positive result by the end of January or early February 2024.

Other members of the delegation included the Registrar Mr. Joseph Bibinu, Bursar Dr. Abraham Bagu, Librarian Dr. Israel Habibu, Dean Faculty of Health Science Dr. Rimamde Ubandoma, Dean Faculty of Science Prof MB Yusuf others are Director of Works Engr. Jerome Pani, Director of Physical Planning Engr. Mijinyawa Musa, Director of Audit Mr. Sabastine Matthew among others.

The event ended with prayers for the Vice-Chancellor and his family, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose within the university community.
