Taraba State University Student Union Government Issues Directive on Hiking Activities

The Student Union Government (SUG) of Taraba State University has issued a press statement regarding hiking activities at the mountain located within the College of Agriculture Science and Technology premises.
The SUG's attention was drawn to a report submitted to the Office of the Commissioner of Police, alleging that certain individuals have been using these hiking activities as a cover for cult initiation.
In light of the security implications and the need to protect the image and integrity of the students, the SUG has issued a directive that any union intending to organize a hiking activity to the said mountain must officially write to the SUG President through the Director of Socials for approval. This measure aims to ensure proper coordination and security clearance in collaboration with relevant authorities.
Failure to comply with this directive and proceeding to the mountain without SUG approval will be considered a breach of protocol. Such groups or individuals risk being arrested by law enforcement agencies.
The SUG urges all unions to take this information seriously and cooperate accordingly, prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of the students.
