The federal government led by President Bola Tinubu has announced a new initiative to provide monthly allowances to unemployed graduates in Nigeria. This was revealed by the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, during a recent address to a delegation of young Nigerians at his office.

Prof. Mamman highlighted that the government has allocated funds for this project and emphasized the need for better media coverage on the matter. He stated, “Every student who has graduated but has not secured a job is entitled to collect an allowance. The government has committed a certain allowance for every unemployed graduate in Nigeria. This announcement comes at a time of nationwide protests against what demonstrators describe as “bad governance” and "anti-people" policies, including the removal of the fuel subsidy by President Tinubu during his inaugural speech on May 29, 2023.
