The citizens of Oyo State, working in conjunction with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), have applauded Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for the reappointment of Dr. Nureni Adeniran as the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). In a statement issued by the Coordinator of the Oyo State Employees of UBEC, Comrade Julius Adedoja, and the Assistant Coordinator, Mrs. Mayowa Akinfenwa, the group commended Dr. Adeniran for his impactful first term.

Before Dr. Adeniran's appointment in 2019, Oyo State faced challenges with a high number of out-of-school children. The group acknowledged that under his leadership, this situation has been addressed, and pupils are now back in class and performing better academically. They also noted the improvement in school infrastructure, with dilapidated structures becoming a thing of the past.
