UBEC Staff Commends Gov. Makinde for Reappointing Adeniran as SUBEB Chairman

The citizens of Oyo State, working in conjunction with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), have applauded Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for the reappointment of Dr. Nureni Adeniran as the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). In a statement issued by the Coordinator of the Oyo State Employees of UBEC, Comrade Julius Adedoja, and the Assistant Coordinator, Mrs. Mayowa Akinfenwa, the group commended Dr. Adeniran for his impactful first term.

The statement highlighted that Dr. Adeniran's initial tenure brought about significant developmental projects and programs in the education sector. The group attributed these positive changes to Adeniran's dedication and experienced approach to the policies and programs of the present administration in the state.

Before Dr. Adeniran's appointment in 2019, Oyo State faced challenges with a high number of out-of-school children. The group acknowledged that under his leadership, this situation has been addressed, and pupils are now back in class and performing better academically. They also noted the improvement in school infrastructure, with dilapidated structures becoming a thing of the past.

While expressing their appreciation for the reappointment, the group called on the state government to focus on constructing staff quarters for teachers in rural communities. This, they believe, will reduce absenteeism and enhance effective service delivery, learner enrollment, and commendable attendance.
