UCH CMD Appoints Dr. Raimi Adeleke as Head of Medical Social Services Department

The Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, has officially approved the appointment of Dr. Raimi Olaleke Adeleke as the new Head of the Medical Social Services Department. The appointment formally took effect on March 7, 2026. 

The announcement followed a courtesy visit by Dr. Adeleke to the Chief Medical Director’s office to formally present his appointment letter and discuss the future of the department.

During the visit, Dr. Adeleke expressed his profound gratitude to the hospital management for the opportunity to lead. In his congratulatory remarks, Professor Otegbayo underscored the strategic importance of the Medical Social Services Department. He noted that the department plays a "critical role" in the hospital’s mission to provide holistic healthcare, bridging the gap between clinical treatment and social support.

The CMD urged Dr. Adeleke to leverage his extensive professional experience to advance the department's objectives, contributing significantly to the hospital’s three-fold mandate of Clinical Services, Research, and Training.

The appointment is expected to bring fresh leadership to the department as UCH continues to strengthen its administrative and clinical frameworks for 2026.
