MDCAN South West Pays Courtesy Visit to UCH Management; Commends Leadership and Excellence

The leadership of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), South West Zone, paid a high-level courtesy visit to the Management of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on April 9th, 2026.

The meeting, held at the hospital’s Boardroom, served as a platform to strengthen the relationship between the association and the premier teaching hospital while acknowledging milestones in medical leadership and practice.

Led by Dr. Omotola Obajolowo, the MDCAN team expressed sincere appreciation for the warm reception accorded to them by the hospital’s leadership. Dr. Obajolowo specifically lauded the Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, for his exemplary leadership and character. He noted that the CMD’s approach has been instrumental in maintaining peace and industrial harmony within the institution, despite the high-pressure environment and heavy clinical workload.

A significant highlight of the visit was the recognition of Professor Wuraola Adebola Shokunbi. The MDCAN delegation praised her profound contributions to the association and her pioneering work in the field of Haematology. Her role in advancing medical education and practice in Nigeria was cited as a benchmark for excellence.

In his response, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo warmly welcomed the MDCAN South West executives.
