UCH Commissions Public-Private Partnership with Medbury Pharmaceutical
The University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on September 16, 2025, officially commissioned a Public-Private Partnership with Medbury Pharmaceutical, a division of the Medbury Healthcare Group.

The event took place at the Pharmacy Department of the hospital.

Mrs. Olubola Ogunlakin, Head of the Public-Private Partnership Department, explained that the collaboration includes the establishment of a Medbury Pharmacy stand within the UCH Pharmacy to guarantee the consistent availability of essential medications for patients. She added that Medbury supported the department with the provision of vital office equipment and boosted the facility’s power supply by installing a 6KVA solar inverter, complementing the existing system.

The Acting Head of the Pharmacy Department, Dr. Olukemi Akinbami, expressed gratitude for the initiative, describing it as a partnership with great potential to enhance patient care and contribute significantly to the well-being of society.
In her remarks, the Group Managing Director of Medbury Healthcare Services, Dr. Itunu Akinware, praised the leadership of UCH under Chief Medical Director (CMD), Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo. She assured that Medbury would ensure efficient supply of reliable drugs to the hospital, emphasizing that patient welfare would remain the company’s top priority.

Professor Otegbayo, while speaking at the ceremony, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to both staff welfare and patient care. He stressed that the partnership reflects the six guiding principles of his administration—patients, partnership, participation, personnel, project, and public perception. The CMD also urged UCH union leaders to play active roles in sustaining such collaborations.
