UDUS Debate Club Triumphs at Caliphate Debate 5.0, Pays Courtesy Visit to VC

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) Debate Club has celebrated its victory at the fifth edition of the Caliphate Debate with a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bashir Garba, on December 5, 2024.
Led by the club's patron, Dr. Tukur Mukthar, the delegation highlighted the remarkable achievements of the team, represented by Abubakar Muizat and Isa Islamiyat Oluwabukola. The duo clinched major awards, including Best Team and First and Second Best Speakers, at the competition held on December 4, 2024. The Caliphate Debate is a platform for intellectual discourse among students of tertiary institutions in Sokoto State, fostering critical thinking on contemporary issues.
Dr. Mukthar underscored the club's dedication to nurturing student talent and emphasized the pressing need for a chamber room within the university to enhance its activities.
In his remarks, Prof. Garba congratulated the club on its outstanding performance and assured them of his continued support, expressing a commitment to addressing their concerns and promoting student excellence.
