The University of Ibadan Health Service (UHS), in collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Health, recently conducted a one-day workshop for commercial food vendors operating within the campus. The workshop aimed to enhance food safety practices, improve vendor skills, and promote overall well-being.

During the workshop, participants received valuable insights from experts in various fields:

  1. Necessity of Healthy Eating and Consequences of Unhealthy Eating Habits: Delivered by Nutritionist and Registered Dietitian, Bosede O. Adebayo-Oke.
  2. Right Use of Fruits and Vegetables: Presented by Nutritionist Morenike Okeya.
  3. Advantages of Organic Products: Discussed by Professor O. O. Adeoluwa, an expert in organic production and utilization.
  4. Food Biosecurity and Biosafety: Covered by Dr. A. O. Ogunleye from the Department of Veterinary Microbiology.
  5. Training and Health Check for Food Vendors: Conducted by Mrs. Folasade Oladele, Head of the School Health Unit, Oyo State Ministry of Health.
