UMTH and WHO Unveil Advanced National Polio Laboratory and Genomic Sequencing Facility

The University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), has officially commissioned a newly upgraded Diagnostic Laboratory featuring a cutting-edge Genomic Sequencing Facility.

The project serves as a critical recovery milestone following the devastating 2024 Maiduguri flood disaster, which damaged previous infrastructure. The revamped facility now boasts state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, a dedicated solar power system, and advanced ICT integration.
