UMTH Hosts Landmark Combined Matriculation for Health Colleges

The three institutions are College of Nursing Sciences which held its first matriculation, Eleventh matriculation for School of Biomedical Engineering Technology and the Thirteenth matriculation of the College of Health Information Management where four hundred and twenty students took the matriculation oath.

Chief Medical Director University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital Professor Ahmed Ahidjo had while congratulating the students said they should consider themselves lucky saying it is a privilege for them to study in the largest Hospital with thirty seven departments, twelve specialized centres and over one thousand nurses.

He stressed that infrastructurally the Hospital is positioned to be among the best in the country.

Earlier, Director of Administration UMTH who is also the Chairman of the occasion Idris Omar while declaring the matriculation open admonished the matriculating students to be good ambassadors of the institution.

In their separate remarks DCMAC Training Dr. Lawan Bukar Marya and DCMAC Special Projects Dr. Abubakar Abiso urged the students to focus more on their studies in order to excel and acknowledged the tremendous support given to the schools by the CMD.

Some matriculating students from the three Schools took turns to assure Management of the Hospital and School authorities of their unwavering commitment to pay attention to their studies.
