The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, conducted a series of courtesy visits to traditional rulers across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) yesterday, reinforcing the University’s commitment to fostering strong relationships with its host communities.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, conducted a series of courtesy visits to traditional rulers across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) yesterday, reinforcing the University’s commitment to fostering strong relationships with its host communities.

During the visits, Professor Fawehinmi met with the Ona of Abaji and Chairman of the FCT Traditional Council, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa; the Sapeyi of Garki, Alhaji Dr. Usman Nga-Kupi; the Aguma of Gwagwalada, Muhammed Magaji; the Agora of Zuba, Mohammed Bello; and the Agaba of Jiwa, Alhaji Idris Musa.

Expressing appreciation for the enduring support from these communities, the Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the University’s dedication to addressing community needs as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives. He emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation to drive mutual growth and development.

In response, the traditional rulers congratulated Professor Fawehinmi on his appointment, offered prayers for a successful tenure, and pledged their full support for the advancement of the University. They also submitted requests regarding admission opportunities, recruitment, and other initiatives that could enhance the socio-economic development of their respective communities.
