UNIDEL Vice-Chancellor Unveils ‘Project RAISE’ Agenda; Pledges Collaborative Governance with Staff Unions
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Professor Eric Eboh, has signaled a new era of industrial harmony and institutional growth following his maiden consultative meeting with the university’s key stakeholders and staff unions.
During the high-level engagement held at the Council Chamber on Thursday, April 30, 2026, Professor Eboh unveiled a comprehensive strategic blueprint titled “Project RAISE UNIDEL.” The agenda is designed to reposition the institution as a center of global excellence through five core pillars:
Addressing leaders from ASUU, SSANU, NASU, and NAAT, Professor Eboh emphasized that the workforce is the university’s most vital asset. “I will work with the unions to raise UNIDEL to higher heights. We must sustain the solid foundation I met on the ground through teamwork and consultation,” he declared.
The union leadership responded with a unified pledge of cooperation. Dr. Amaechi Ehimetie, ASUU Branch Chairman, described the union’s approach as "constructive," promising to ensure the system functions without hitches. Similarly, leaders from SSANU, NASU, and NAAT affirmed their commitment to working closely with the new administration to achieve institutional goals.

In a personal address to the Student Union Government (SUG), Professor Eboh adopted the roles of "father, uncle, and friend," promising an administration focused on producing "job-ready" graduates. He pledged to bridge the gap between academia and industry by bringing professionals into the university space to enhance career exposure.
“Discipline is the bedrock of character,” he reminded the student leaders, who in turn presented the Vice-Chancellor with a symbolic souvenir to mark the start of a collaborative relationship.
The meeting was attended by the university’s principal officers, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Patrick Ijeh, Registrar Barr. Richmond Omagbemi, and other senior administrators, marking a significant step toward internal stability and collective development.
