The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Prof. Tanko Ishaya, emphasized the critical role of cutting-edge research in formulating strategic policies to address various challenges affecting the Nigerian economy.

During a visit by Course Participants of the Senior Executive Course 46 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), led by the Director-General, Professor Ayo Omotayo, Prof. Ishaya underscored the importance of robust research in driving sustainable economic development.

In response, Prof. Oluwafumi Para-Mallam, representing Prof. Ayo Omotayo, expressed appreciation to UNIJOS for facilitating the training visit, aimed at providing practical insights into addressing the theme of Course 46, "Digital Economy, Youth Empowerment, Sustainable Job Creation in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges, and Opportunities." The theme seeks to address the volatility of the Nigerian economy, with participants drawn from various sectors including civil service, private sector, military, police, paramilitary, voluntary agencies, and state governments.
