The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced that Professor Olatunde Julius Otusanya of the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Sciences, will deliver the institution’s 447th Inaugural Lecture on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

The lecture, titled “Fiscal Termites: Creating Endless Cycle of Underdevelopment,” will take place at the J.F. Ade-Ajayi Auditorium by 4:00 p.m., with guests expected to be seated by 3:45 p.m. It marks the first inaugural lecture of the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, will chair the event, which is expected to provide critical perspectives on the structural and fiscal factors contributing to Nigeria’s economic underdevelopment.

Members of the university community, alumni, and the general public are invited to attend.
