The University of Lagos has debunked insinuations circulating on social media and in e-mails suggesting that the 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise, held from September 1 to 4, was affected by a system or technical glitch.

In a statement signed by Adejoke R. Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of the Communication Unit, on behalf of the University Management, UNILAG affirmed that the notification of examination malpractice earlier issued was not due to any technical fault. According to the statement, cases flagged were the result of clear violations of established examination guidelines detected through multiple monitoring mechanisms, including secure video surveillance.

The University further clarified that while uncensored video recordings will not be released to the public in line with extant laws and data protection standards, anonymised screenshots may be published strictly to illustrate the type of violations under review.

Candidates have been urged to disregard information from unauthorized sources and rely solely on communications released through the University’s official platforms and channels as indicated in prior notices.

Reiterating its stance, the University emphasized its unwavering commitment to integrity, fairness, and transparency in the admissions process, stressing that it would not be swayed by conjectures or misinformation.
