UNILAG Hosts Webinar on Africanizing CRISPR Technology for Food Security and Health Care

The Genome Editing Research Group, Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Science, University of Lagos (UNILAG), will hold a webinar titled "Africanizing CRISPR Technology for Food Security and Better Health Care Delivery" on Friday, December 20, 2024. The virtual event is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom.

The webinar will feature Dr. F. N. Jomane, the Director of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Industrialization at Lupane State University, Zimbabwe, as the Guest Speaker. Dr. Jomane is expected to share insights into the application of CRISPR technology in addressing critical challenges in food security and healthcare across the African continent.

The event is hosted by Prof. L.A. Ogunkunmi, Head of the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, and co-hosted by Prof. O.T. Asekun, Dean of the Faculty of Science, UNILAG. The Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, will serve as the Chief Host.
