During a press conference for the 11th Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Games, held nearly a month ago, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, OON, FAS, emphasized the event's significance beyond sports. She described the FASU Games as “an investment in the future of our youths, in the strengthening of African unity, and in the visibility of sponsors, partners, and the media.”

Scheduled to take place on the campuses of UNILAG and Lagos State University (LASU), the 11th FASU Games will host over 1,500 athletes from across the African continent. Professor Ogunsola reaffirmed UNILAG’s dedication to youth development, African unity, and enhancing the visibility of supporting organizations through its commitment to hosting the event.
