The University of Lagos will be proudly represented at the upcoming German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG)’s Forum: Connect & Exchange as Prof. Njideka Okubadejo, Professor of Neurology and Director, Centre for Neurological Sciences Research and Training, College of Medicine, UNILAG, co-presents the keynote lecture alongside Prof. (Dr.) Christine Klein, Schilling Professor of Neurogenetics and Neurology, and Director of the Institute of Neurogenetics, University of Lübeck, Germany.

The University of Lagos will be proudly represented at the upcoming German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG)’s Forum: Connect & Exchange as Prof. Njideka Okubadejo, Professor of Neurology and Director, Centre for Neurological Sciences Research and Training, College of Medicine, UNILAG, co-presents the keynote lecture alongside Prof. (Dr.) Christine Klein, Schilling Professor of Neurogenetics and Neurology, and Director of the Institute of Neurogenetics, University of Lübeck, Germany.

The keynote lecture, titled “GP2 in Africa: Global Science, Local Impact – Findings and Future Directions in Parkinson’s Genomics and Capacity Building”, will be delivered on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the DFG Head Office, Norbert-Elias-Saal, Bonn, Germany.

The session will highlight their collaborative work within the Global Parkinson’s Genetics Programme (GP2), focusing on advancing neuroscience research and strengthening capacity in Africa.

Forum: Connect & Exchange forms part of DFG’s I2I (Initiative for a 2-stage Initiation of International Collaboration) in the neurosciences, with Africa positioned as a key focus region.
