UNILAG unity is non-negotiable - Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe says as marks the end of his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of the University, myschoolnews reporting.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, has emphasized the importance of peaceful co-existence among members of the University community.

He made the remark at the Special Jumat Prayer Session organised at the UNILAG Community Mosque to mark the end of his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of the University.

His words, “When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you. It is only in unity that the University can progress and overcome its daunting challenges and take its rightful place amongst first-class global institutions.

Earlier, the Imam of UNILAG Community Mosque, Professor Ismail Musa, offered thanksgiving to God for the progress, peace and unity enjoyed by the University, in spite of daunting challenges.

He encouraged members of the University community to remain steadfast in their prayers for the varsity, and eschew the spirit of division.

Speaking during the event which was well attended by other top officials of the University, the Chairman of UNILAG Muslim Community; Professor Hakeem Olaniyan commended staff and students for their passion and dedication to the UNILAG project. He expressed hope of a better tomorrow.

Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS, assumed office as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the University on Sunday, November 12, 2017 and will leave office on Friday, November 11, 2022.
