UNILORIN Commences Construction of New School Gate
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin Prof. Wahah commended the Chairman of Hallmark Group, Dr Adeola O. Hadru, for keeping to his promise to remodel the University Gate on which construction work was flagged off last Friday (February 10, 2023).

The Vice Chancellor, who spoke at the turning of the sod of the construction of the redesigned Ciste, appreciated Dr. Badra for supporting his administration with the remodeling, saying the Chairman of Hallmark Group has demonstrated that friendship is about giving and extending hands of Bellowship
While expressing satisfaction with the architectural drawing of the proposed gate remodelling. Prof. Eghewale pleated with the site workers to ensure that traffic control plans are followed to ensure smooth movement of vehicles in and out of the university campus during the period of construction.
The Vice Chancellor also pleaded with Dr. Badru to help maintain the green lawn from the University Gate to UNILORIN Water Junction.
Prof. Egbewole said the institution is open to more support and collaborations from private sectors and friends of the university.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Hallmark Group, Dr. Badru, noted that as a friend of the Vice Chancellor, the idea to assist the institution with the remodeling of its gate, was mooted when he was visiting the university on the day of Orof Egbewoe’s inauguration as the 11th Vice Chancellor in October last year.
He announced that his company will upon completion of the project, make another donation to the institution for the maintenance of the gate for five years.
Incher iwhcremarjs, the Registrar, Dr. Fola M. Olowoleni, thanked Dr. Badru for his decision to remodel the gate, adding that for anyone visiting the University for the first time, the gate is the face of the university.
Dr Olowoleni called on the Hallmark Group CEO to also help with the drainage system leading to the University gate so as to preserve the beauty of the gate when it is completed.
Also speaking, the Students’ Union President, Faji, saluted the idea of remodelling the school gate and commended the Vice Chancellor and Dr. Badru for the initiative.
He disclosed that his administration had always enjoyed good relationship with the Vice Chancellor and pledged the commitment of the Students’ Union to support the developmental strides of the adminstration.
In his opening remarks, the Acting Director of Physical Planning Unit, QS Toyin Jimoh, while appreciating Dr. Badru for his thoughtful gift to the University, urged other stakeholders to assist the University to attain greater heights.
The event was witnessed by Principal Officers of the University, Deans, Directors, the Chairman of Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (SSANU), Comrade Naheem Falowo, staff and students of the university.
