The University of Port Harcourt has encouraged all to participate actively in tree planting within the University
The University of Port Harcourt has urged staff, faculty members, students, and stakeholders to complement its tree-planting initiative to achieve the goal of a greener campus, Myschoolnews report.
The Vice Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt Professor Owunari Georgewill made the call at the weekend during the tree planting ceremony anchored by the Faculty of Engineering under the leadership of the outgoing Dean, Professor Rowland at the Faculty located at the University Park.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, of Administration, Professor Clifford Ofurum, the VC encouraged all to participate actively in tree planting within the University to achieve the goal of a greener campus. He said, “We must encourage all to become active participants in this endeavor. Planting trees in our departments, faculties, backyards, creating gardens, or even participating in gardening projects can make a significant difference” VC stated.
He commended the Outgoing Dean, Professor Rowland for the initiative and urged the faculty members to sustain the tempo.
