The management of the University of Ibadan has issued a formal disclaimer concerning a fraudulent online advertisement promoting admissions for the 2024/2025 academic session at a so-called "University of Ibadan, Minna Study Centre." The advert, which targets police officers, other paramilitary personnel, and the general public, falsely claims to offer various diploma, higher diploma, and postgraduate programs in criminology, psychology, and security studies.

In response, the University of Ibadan has unequivocally disassociated itself from the purported Minna Study Centre and its advertised programs. The institution has no affiliation with the study centre, its operations, or the individuals listed as contacts in the advert.
