University of Ibadan VC Highlights Importance of Transport Services

University of Ibadan VC Highlights Importance of Transport Services

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, has emphasized the significance of transport services in the university's daily operations. He stated that transport services are central to academic and administrative life on campus.

Professor Adebowale made this remark during a courtesy visit from the newly elected executives of the Campus Cab Association, led by Professor Olumide Olajide, Chairman of the Inter-Campus Transport Committee (ICTC). The ICTC has been working to introduce innovative solutions to ease transportation stress and reduce costs, including attempts to introduce electric tricycles.

The University is taking steps to improve transport services, including discussions with the Federal Road Safety Corps to conduct training programs for transport operators and provide periodic medical checks and safety awareness education.

Professor Adebowale warned transport operators against reckless driving and substance use while on duty, emphasizing the importance of safety.
