The University of Ilorin has announced the commencement of the disbursement of student loans under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) for the 2023/2024 academic session. In a statement released by the Registrar, M.A. Atanta, the university informed all concerned students who had applied for these loans that their funds have been successfully processed and are now available through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
It was noted that the beneficiaries had already paid their tuition fees for the 2022/2023 academic session before receiving the loan disbursements. As such, the university emphasizes that any funds released through NELFund should not be misused for other purposes. The affected students are advised to ensure that the funds are appropriately allocated to their tuition fees and other academic expenses.
The university community is encouraged to cooperate with the university’s Bursary Department to ensure the efficient use of the loans. Further instructions on the use of the funds will be communicated in due course.
