University of Maiduguri and Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Sign MoU to Launch New Degree Programmes
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) and the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce five new degree programmes.
The programmes include BSc Mass Communication, BSc Accounting, BSc Business Administration, BSc Banking and Finance, BSc Public Administration.
The MoU was signed on July 18, 2025, by Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, Vice Chancellor of UNIMAID, and Dr. Dalhatu Saidu Abubakar, Rector of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi. This collaboration aims to expand access to higher education and provide students with quality academic programmes.
Professor Mele emphasized the university's commitment to making a difference in students' lives, stating, "If they can bring the university closer to them, then they're truly making a difference." Dr. Dalhatu expressed gratitude for UNIMAID's support and noted that the partnership will enable Bauchi students to pursue university degrees closer to home .
The degree programmes are expected to commence in the 2024/2025 academic session, with admissions already announced for the 2025/2026 academic session. Interested candidates can apply through the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi's website .
