The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has officially activated its new Solar Power System, aimed at providing uninterrupted electricity to critical academic and administrative areas across campus.

During the system’s inspection and test-run, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill, stated that the solar infrastructure will significantly enhance the University’s capacity to support teaching, learning, research, entrepreneurship, administration, and overall campus living conditions.

Professor Georgewill also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for facilitating the energy initiative, noting that it aligns with national objectives for renewable energy adoption and institutional development.
