UNIZIK Suspends Staff Member for 6 Months Over Degree, NYSC Certificates Forgery

The forgery came to light when Nwafor Ogbonnaya Nwesuzor requested a change in his degree result. It was revealed that he had abandoned his undergraduate program, forged the university statement of result, and a letter of exclusion from the NYSC in an attempt to secure employment at UNIZIK.

UNIZIK Suspends Staff Member for 6 Months Over Degree, NYSC Certificates Forgery

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK), in Anambra State, has suspended a staff member, Mr. Nwafor Ogbonnaya Nwesuzor, for allegedly forging his degree and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates. This suspension was announced through a statement released by Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, the Special Adviser to the school's vice-chancellor on public relations and special duties.

The forgery came to light when Nwafor Ogbonnaya Nwesuzor requested a change in his degree result. It was revealed that he had abandoned his undergraduate program, forged the university statement of result, and a letter of exclusion from the NYSC in an attempt to secure employment at UNIZIK.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that Nwesuzor had submitted documents with different names and different class of degrees. The forged statement of result, bearing the name Nwafor Osborne Ogbonnaya, indicated a second-class lower division, while the original result under the name Nwafor Ogbonnaya Nwesuzor displayed a third-class result.

In response to this, the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone, has approved the immediate suspension of Nwafor Ogbonnaya Nwesuzor for a period of six months. His case will undergo further processes within the University before final disposal action is taken.
