VC DOUBLES DOWN ON LASU INTERNATIONALIZATION DRIVE, HOSTS OFFICIALS OF AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji - Bello, mni, on Wednesday, 29th March 2023, further strengthened her administration's drive to internationalize the Lagos State University when she hosted a team of officials of four American Universities - the Boston University, Massachusetts, Drexel University, Philadelphia, George Washington University and New York University, New York, who visited under the aegis of SEED Global Education, a global education company that helps higher education aspirants from Asia, Africa and Middle East connect with the best Universities in the world.

The meeting, which took place at the Council Chambers, first floor of the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, was facilitated by the Advisory Committee for International Academic Engagement, chaired by the Vice Chancellor. 

During the interaction, the LASU team, which composed of members of the University Management, the Deans and Professors from selected faculties - Engineering and Science and other members of the Advisory Committee for International Academic Engagement, engaged the visitors on areas of mutual interest for staff and students' exchange programmes, scholarships, research collaborations, amongst others. 

Leaders of the delegation, Sanjay Dhingra, the Chief Operating Officer of Seed Global Education, and Jojo Quansah, the Regional Director, Africa, while making their presentation expressed their pleasure at the prospect of partnering with the University, noting that the vast number of students and some fields of study offered by the institution makes her a top choice for partnership.

The meeting, which lasted for over an hour was productive with the two teams committing themselves to a plan of action that would make the collaborations a reality.
