In a recent development at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), a midnight raid conducted on March 14th, 2024, at the SOZO and End in Praise lodges has led to the detention of over 40 students and residents by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Shockingly, among those detained, 28 individuals were solely from the Hilltop area.

Efforts by the university's Vice-Chancellor, as well as interventions from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the Student Union Government (SUG) UNN, have resulted in the release of only a fraction of the detained students. Many still remain under questioning, with authorities citing the discovery of "incriminating" evidence.
