Wesley University, Ondo Set for 14th Convocation Ceremony
Wesley University, Ondo, a faith-based institution established by the Methodist Church Nigeria, will hold its 14th Convocation Ceremony from Tuesday, November 18 to Sunday, November 23, 2025. The weeklong event carries the theme “J. Wesley Missiology and Education for Sustainable Development in the 21st Century.”

The weeklong event carries the theme “J. Wesley Missiology and Education for Sustainable Development in the 21st Century.”
According to the university management, the Convocation Week will feature three major events — an International Conference, the main Convocation Ceremony, and a Festschrift in honour of the Vice-Chancellor, Rt. Revd. Prof. Samuel Sunday Obeka (JP).
The International Conference will open the week’s activities with discussions on the link between faith-based education and sustainable development in modern society. Distinguished scholars and thought leaders will present papers reflecting Wesley University’s commitment to transformative knowledge.

The Convocation Ceremony, which will be the climax of the celebration, will witness the conferment of degrees on deserving graduates recognized for excellence in learning and character. The event will also showcase the institution’s advancements in academic growth, infrastructural development, and community service under the leadership of Rt. Revd. Prof. Obeka.
A special highlight of the week is the Festschrift in honour of the Vice-Chancellor, celebrating his visionary leadership, academic achievements, and dedication to repositioning Wesley University as a centre of excellence grounded in moral and spiritual values.
Wesley University continues to uphold its founding mission of producing morally upright, intellectually sound, and socially responsible graduates equipped to transform society through faith, knowledge, and service. The Convocation Week is expected to attract dignitaries from the Methodist Church hierarchy, academia, and the wider community to celebrate faith, scholarship, and progress.
