Wigwe University Commences Academic Activities

Wigwe University, located in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, has officially commenced academic activities. The institution, founded by the late Dr. Herbert Wigwe, former Managing Director of Access Holdings, is making headlines as Nigeria's first Ivy League-style university.

The launch of academic sessions comes just eight months after the tragic passing of Dr. Wigwe, who, along with his wife and son, died in a plane crash in the United States in February 2024. The establishment of the university was one of Dr. Wigwe’s ambitious projects aimed at elevating the standard of higher education in Nigeria.
