Gladys Gakii, a 40-year-old woman, has shattered barriers by returning to school, earning a diploma in Criminology and Security Studies from Tharaka University, and winning a scholarship for her exceptional achievements. Gakii's inspiring journey reflects resilience and determination, proving that age is no obstacle to pursuing educational dreams.

In 2019, Gakii decided to pursue higher education, and in 2022, she successfully obtained a diploma in Criminology. Recognizing her unwavering commitment to education, Tharaka University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Kinyua Muriungi, awarded her a full scholarship for a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and Security Studies.
Expressing her gratitude, Gakii stated, "I can only thank the university for the degree scholarship and promise to do my best not only in school but even out there in the community. One day, I will give back. So help me God."
