The Zamfara State Government has paid over N3 billion in outstanding Senior Secondary Schools Examination (SSCE) fees, a debt left by the previous administration. This development was disclosed by Alhaji Wadatau Madawaki, the State Commissioner for Science and Technical Education, during a press briefing on Tuesday.
Madawaki highlighted this payment as a significant achievement of Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration, underscoring its commitment to improving the state's education system. "Education is the bedrock of development for every society. That is why, immediately upon assuming office, the governor declared a state of emergency in the education sector," Madawaki stated.

The commissioner detailed ongoing efforts to address various challenges in the education sector, including infrastructure decay, a lack of teaching materials, inadequate libraries and laboratories, and a shortage of qualified teachers.
