In a heartwarming tribute to the late former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation (SAAF) awarded ₦200,000 grants to 25 outstanding students from Oyo State. This initiative marks the fourth Fidau anniversary of the esteemed leader, aiming to support the educational pursuits of brilliant students from various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

The ceremony, held at the Oluyole residence of the Ajimobi family, saw the presence of notable guests, family members, political associates, and party chieftains, all gathered to honor the legacy of the first two-term governor of Oyo State. Special prayers were offered for the deceased, celebrating his contributions to the state and beyond.

Dr. Florence Ajimobi, President of SAAF and wife of the late governor, spoke passionately about the foundation's commitment to preserving her husband's memory and legacies. She highlighted the foundation's collaboration with the Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies (IPSS) at the University of Ibadan, where they have organized the Annual Abiola Ajimobi Roundtable, further cementing his ideals of good governance.

In her speech, Dr. Florence Ajimobi shared the rigorous selection process for the grant recipients. Out of 1,800 applicants, 840 met the strict qualification criteria, with 333 in the first-class CGPA category. The final 25 recipients were chosen based on their academic excellence, written justification for the application, and strong recommendations from their institutions.

She encouraged the recipients to view this grant as a stepping stone to further academic and personal excellence, inspiring them to contribute positively to society in the future. The event underscored the foundation's dedication to fostering educational development and continuing Senator Ajimobi’s legacy of progress and development.
