ABSU NIMELSSA President Solomon Uzom Leads Initiative to Reopen Public Toilet, Combat Open Defecation
Solomon Uzom, President of NIMELSSA at ABSU, spearheads the reopening of a long-unused toilet facility within the Department, aiming to address the issue of open defecation and promote cleanliness on campus.
In a significant move towards promoting cleanliness and hygiene on campus, the President of the Nigerian Medical Laboratory Science Student Association (NIMELSSA) ABSU Chapter, Comr. Solomon Uzom, has officially reopened a long-unused toilet facility within the Department's premises.
The facility, which had remained closed for years, is now back in operation under the proactive leadership of Comr. Solomon Uzom. In his address during the commissioning ceremony, President Uzom emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment within the NIMELSSA community, aiming to curb the prevalence of open defecation practices.

Expressing concern over Nigeria's ranking as the second-highest country in open defecation, President Uzom called for collective efforts to combat this issue. He reiterated his commitment to fostering a healthier society and pledged to play his part in ending open defecation both within the Department and across Nigeria.
Furthermore, the initiative was lauded by the Speaker of the NIMELSSA Representative Council, Rt. Hon Miracle Chidera Nwosu, who commended President Uzom's dedication to the Department's growth and development. He highlighted the significance of reopening the toilet facility in maintaining cleanliness within the Department.
