ACU Agriculture Students Showcase Entrepreneurial Products, Visit Vice-Chancellor in Oyo
Students of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, have demonstrated practical entrepreneurial skills as 200-level students of the Faculty of Agriculture paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, on Monday, June 8, 2026, to present products developed through their entrepreneurship training.
Students of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, have demonstrated practical entrepreneurial skills as 200-level students of the Faculty of Agriculture paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, on Monday, June 8, 2026, to present products developed through their entrepreneurship training.
The students showcased a range of items including garri, liquid soap, and chinchin, produced under the AGR 206 course in Family and Consumer Sciences, Food Science and Technology. The initiative reflects the university’s emphasis on blending academic learning with hands-on skills for self-reliance and wealth creation.
Leading the delegation, the Head of Department of Agricultural Economics, Dr. Rhoda Adeniyi, explained that the training was designed to expose students to entrepreneurship and value-addition opportunities within the agricultural sector. She noted that students were actively involved in all stages of production, including sourcing raw materials, processing, packaging, and presentation.

Dr. Adeniyi expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oduwole, for her consistent support for initiatives that promote practical learning and entrepreneurial development within the university. She was accompanied by Mrs. Ololade Olodude and Mrs. Odunayo Jegede.
Mrs. Olodude disclosed that 16 students participated in the practical training programme aimed at equipping them with marketable skills for income generation and post-graduation self-sufficiency.
Beyond the packaged products, the students also prepared local delicacies such as amala and ogbono soup, alongside indigenous beverages including kunnu, zobo, and tiger nut juice, further demonstrating the depth of their practical training and applied knowledge in food processing and production.
