In a significant development, the Federal Government has named Dr. Samuel Akintunde as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, marking a pivotal step in the realization of the university's new status. Furthermore, various key administrative positions within the university will be temporarily filled by acting officials until substantive principal officers are appointed.

This transformation follows an announcement by the Minister of Education, Prof. Mammam Tahir, on the 20th of October 2023, declaring the conversion of Adeyemi College of Education into Adeyemi University of Education, along with other institutions, effective immediately.

Dr. Samuel Akintunde, the newly appointed Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, previously served as the Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. Additional principal officers who will assume acting roles pending the appointment of permanent officeholders include Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede, Acting Registrar of the University; Mr. Ganiyu Olaniyi Abdul, Acting Bursar of the University; and Mr. Azino Akpokuriere, the Acting University Librarian.
