The Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) has pledged full support to the Ogwashi-Ukwu Police Area Command’s Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in its forthcoming sensitization campaign against drug abuse among young people.

The Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) has pledged full support to the Ogwashi-Ukwu Police Area Command’s Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in its forthcoming sensitization campaign against drug abuse among young people.

The assurance was given on Friday, September 26, 2025, when a delegation from the PCRC paid a courtesy visit to the University.

Briefing the University Management, the Area Command’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Ojii Israel, outlined the initiative themed “Effect of Drug on Our Young Generation”, scheduled for October. He noted the PCRC’s transition from reactive to proactive approaches and appealed for ADUN’s collaboration.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Christopher Ndubuisi Bankole Ogbogbo, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Rear Admiral M. M. Abdullahi, welcomed the partnership and assured the Committee of the University’s unwavering support. The Vice Chancellor further demonstrated commitment by signing the Command’s enrollment roll-up for the project.

This initiative aligns with ADUN’s firm zero-tolerance policy on substance abuse and its broader mission of safeguarding the future of Nigerian youths.

The visit featured representatives from the Command including Inspector Agbi Babade, Apostle Sunday Okiti, Comrade Osurne John, Mr. Augustine Echewa, and Dr. Ojii Israel. The University team was led by the Registrar, Commodore Isaac Mankilik, alongside the University Librarian, Dr. Gladys Onyia, and Deputy Bursar, Dr. Ediri, who represented the Bursar, Captain H. Y. Aliyu, among other senior officials.
