Ahmadu Bello University Approves 2024/2025 Academic Session Calendar

The first semester will begin with registration on December 9, 2024, and end with the Christmas and New Year break from December 21, 2024, to January 4, 2025. The second semester is set to begin on January 6, 2025, with lectures running until March 29, 2025.

Ahmadu Bello University Approves 2024/2025 Academic Session Calendar

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has approved the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 session. The Senate approved the schedule during its 541st regular meeting held on November 7, 2024.

The first semester will begin with registration on December 9, 2024, and end with the Christmas and New Year break from December 21, 2024, to January 4, 2025. The second semester is set to begin on January 6, 2025, with lectures running until March 29, 2025.

Final examinations for the second semester will start on May 12, 2025, and end by June 16, 2025, followed by the semester break.

Key events include the screening of new students from December 2 to December 14, 2024, and departmental course allocation from May 19 to May 24, 2025. Graduating students’ results will be presented to the Senate by July 31, 2025.

The academic year will conclude by September 2025 with results processing and approval.
