Ahmadu Bello University has demonstrated its strength in sustainable development and innovation by emerging among the top 10 globally at the 'Power the Community 2025' International Design Competition.
The university's two teams, Terra Haven and Shika Oasis, showcased exceptional performance in designing energy infrastructure for communities of their choice.
The competition, organized by Energy Mentors, a non-profit organization based in the United States, attracted entries from 18 countries. Participants were tasked with applying their knowledge and skills to solve real-world energy challenges, with a prize pool of $31,000 up for grabs.
The university's teams, Terra Haven and Shika Oasis, embodied ABU's strength in sustainable design, energy efficiency, and community-focused development. Their innovative solutions for sustainable energy infrastructure earned them a spot among the top 10 globally.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, commended the students for their exceptional performance, stressing that ABU has the capacity to solve global problems. He pledged the university's full support towards further development and potential real-world implementation of their designs.
The university's commitment to excellence was reaffirmed, with the management vowing to ensure that the students win even more competitions.
