Federal Polytechnic Mubi Committee Visits Library to Discuss Key Issues

The Committee on the Floating of Social Media Handles for the Federal Polytechnic Mubi, led by the Deputy Registrar (Information & Protocol), Mr. Medan A. Ndodi, paid a courtesy visit to the Polytechnic Library.

The committee was warmly received by the Polytechnic Librarian, Mr. Odeh Ochowechi Peter.

During the visit, Mr. Odeh expressed concern over the declining patronage of the library by both students and staff. He lamented that many fail to fully utilize the library's rich resources, including the submission of theses and dissertations by postgraduate students.

Reintroduction of "Use of Library" Course

The Polytechnic Librarian called for the reintroduction of the "Use of Library" course, which has been inactive for over three years. He believes that making this course compulsory in the academic curriculum would help students develop proper research skills and improve their understanding of effective library use.

Mr. Odeh highlighted the importance of the e-Library and the challenges associated with data subscription. He commended the Polytechnic Management and TETFund for their support and investment in academic development and library infrastructure.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the library, showcasing recent improvements and innovations introduced under the current leadership. These efforts aim to modernize the library and enhance academic service delivery.
