Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria is set to host the Nigerian Institute of Leather & Science Technology (NILEST) and the Raw Materials Research & Development Council (RMRDC) for their 11th International Conference. The event, themed "Empowering Tradition, Enriching the Future: Reviving Nigeria's Textile and Allied Industries for Economic Renaissance," will take place from November 11 to 12, 2024, at the Business School, Centre for Excellence, ABU.
The conference aims to address critical issues in the textile and garment industries, focusing on innovative processing and marketing solutions. Keynote speakers include Professor H.D. Brahem, former Director-General of RMRDC, and Professor M. Sani Gumel from Bayero University, Kano.
The event will feature discussions on skills development, empowerment in textiles, and the conversion of waste to wealth in the textile and allied industries. It is expected to provide valuable insights into reviving and strengthening Nigeria's textile sector.
